Dr. Karen Cheng is board-certified in both sleep medicine and neurology and is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Neurology.  


Dr. Cheng attended college at Stanford University, where she graduated with honors.  While at Stanford, she studied neurobiology and dance.  Subsequently, she obtained her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia.  She pursued and completed her internship and residency in neurology at UC Irvine. 


Following her residency in neurology, she sought to sub-specialize in sleep medicine and completed a clinical fellowship in sleep medicine at Stanford University, the site of the first sleep disorders clinic in the country.  While at Stanford, she had the privilege of treating patients with a variety of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, periodic limb movement disorder, REM-sleep behavior disorder, and circadian rhythm disorders. 


Dr. Cheng is in private practice in Laguna Hills at the Oakbrook Plaza and is a medical staff member of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.  She is committed to providing quality care and personalized service to her patients.
